Option 1*
Where specified by the client and where data is sensitive or secret we use SEAP 8500*** degaussing products which meet the most stringent Type 2 (Higher) specification for the secure declassification of data. Charges apply for this service.

Option 2*
Where specified by the client and HDD can be granulated to the following fragment sizes

*25mm
*6mm

Option 3*
(only at client request and under contract) HDD are either drilled or punched to render the unit un serviceable. The units are not degaussed.

Serial number tracking is required as an add-on service if a Certificate Of Destruction (COD) is required against any of the above options. Either the WEEERECO BACOS** system can be used or the client can provide a list of unique serial numbers. In all cases, barcode scanning is the only serial number  tracking method that WEEERECO will use to ensure that all COD's are meaningful and correct.     

After data security issues have been successfully dealt with, all data bearing media are processed in line with client’s requirements and in accordance with the requirements of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations and all other relevant UK Waste Management Legislation.

***SEAP 8500
SEAP (Security Equipment Assessment Panel) is an organisation of the UK Government Cabinet Office responsible for approving security equipment used to protect Government assets. The standard was published in June 1997 to enable manufacturers to submit degaussers against a defined requirement. It specifies the methods of testing and performance of degaussing equipment in use In the destruction of Government protectively marked information.
